Final round 68 (4 under) secures Tom another top 5 finish in the 47th Memorial Barras in the Swiss Alps
Tom started the week in Crans Sur Sierre , the home of the Omega European Masters in fine style with the opening Pro Am’s scoring a level par 72 & a two under 70 to finish 3rd & 4th respectively in the individual section
In the first round of the 54 hole event Tom finished with a 73,followed by a 75 to be in14thposition going in to the final round, but with a fantastic closing round of 68 in very windy conditions saw Tom climb to equal 5th place in the final results table
Tom’s final round of 4 under par was the best on the day by 3 shots, with the average final round score being 74, it shows how well he performed in a field of existing Challenge & past European Tour Players
During the Pro Am’s Tom played consistently & scored well, considering a few putts were left out there, but the first round of the tournament saw Tom get off the a difficult start being 6 over through the first 6 holes, but having regrouped well Tom was 5 under for the last 12 holes, day two started well with Tom 2 under after the first 9 holes, but unfortunately Tom had a few irregular shots in the back 9 to finish the day on 3 over, the final round speaks for its self
“Tom learnt a lot about himself during this event, how to be more patient / calm on the golf course & the results you want will happen, as I was on the bag again I was able to see at close hand all the situations that arose, which enabled me to advise Tom on how to deal with the ups & downs. The final round of 68 speaks volumes about Toms dedication to succeed & to take on board the advice that I gave him. In the end Tom was only 4 shots from obtaining a start in the Omega European Masters 2011. I am very proud of Toms come back in the event & I know he will grow in stature from the experience”, quotes his Coach & Manager Graham Moore FPGA 20th June 2011
“It was great to have “G” as My caddy again, his wealth of experience / knowledge are second to none & I know along with his continued coaching guidance that I will reach My goals”, quotes Tom Higson 20th June 2011

“ Win number 3 “
AKSHAY continued his winning streak, by becoming the VIRGIN ATLANTIC / UNIGLOBAL Junior Champion 2011
The event hosted by Virgin Atlantic was played over Karen Golf & Country Club, Nairobi, Kenya on 3rd June
Karen is a very tight course, well-manicured, which needs precision placed tee shots & accurate shots to the green to be a close as possible to the hole on fast & undulating greens
Akshay still managed to score 39 points, 21 were scored on the first nine holes with 18 on the back nine
It was his first time playing the course which is a past venue of the Kenyan Open, he missed only 2 fairways & these by only a yard or so, but with excellent short game skills he out shadowed the older juniors who hit the ball longer
“I am really pleased for Akshay, his swing is now really consistent & I have now started to concentrate more on his short game, which will enhance is overall playing / scoring ability, this I know will have helped his excellent play @ Karen Golf & Country” Graham Moore FPGA
